Y4 Week Commencing 27th April

Welcome to Week 2!

Top Tip: Try to complete your Maths and English daily tasks in the morning. This way the rest of the day can be used to complete Sumdog challenges, chip away at your topic project or to get stuck into your reading.

Thank you so much for sharing your work with us - we're loving the work you're doing! Remember, if you need any help or have any questions, please email us at or you can simply place a comment on the activity in Google Classroom.

Daily English Tasks - Week 2

Each week, we will be setting you daily English tasks which will structured as follows:

Monday - Reading comprehension

Tuesday - Writing skills activity

Wednesday - Writing skills activity

Thursday and Friday - Big Write (2 day task)

These tasks will be available on both the Home Learning page on the website and on the Google Classroom and should be handed in (in the ways described above) on the dates shown on the tasks.

Enjoy! We're looking forward to seeing what you do! laugh

For this week’s topic tasks, we are looking closely at Southampton. Now, don’t get me started, but I think our city has tons of incredible history that we just don’t celebrate enough! Just look at what we did for James Nicolson VC. Until we put up the memorial, there wasn’t one!

Something that might be of interest to you is a focus on the Spitfire, designed by RJ Mitchell. There are plenty of opportunities for you to draw, paint, design and build this magnificent aircraft.

COME ON YOU REDS! Think you know about football? Well tell us about Southampton’s best players, the best games or what it takes to be a pro footballer. You may even want to create Southampton’s greatest sporting moments with your families – film them – and post them for us to enjoy. If it’s the managers celebration after winning the 1976 FA Cup, your parents may have to dust off their flares #pitchinvasion! Why not make a collage of the Southampton badge or write to a Saints player during this time, asking for an autograph!

This is just a flavour of the week’s topic work, so check out all of the great activities on the weekly topic link.  We hope that you all will learn something new.
