Welcome to Summer Term - Week 3
On this page you will find the Maths, English and Topic tasks for you to complete this week. The tasks will also be available on the Year 6 Google Classroom pages so that you can share your work with us. You can share the completed tasks in a number of ways. Either complete them in a Google Doc and share it with your class teacher or complete it in your home learning book and take a photograph of your work and attach it to the assignment on Google Classroom - or get an adult to email it to the Year 6 email address - year6@sholing-jun.co.uk. Either way, the tasks set out on here need to shared with us in some way by the end of each week.

TOPIC TASK: VE DAY 75th Anniversary Celebrations
When VE Day dawns on 8th May 2020 it will be 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of carnage and destruction had come to an end, and millions of people took to the streets and pubs to celebrate peace, mourn their loved ones and to share hope for the future. It will be an opportunity for us all to remember the enormous sacrifices that were made at home and abroad and to joyously celebrate as people did 75 years ago, the arrival of peace in Europe. This week’s topic reflects this. There are lots of creative activities for you to look at this week and we hope that you enjoy them. We have attached some additional links below the Topic Web to help – lots of art, craft and cooking. I hope you have a great week and let’s celebrate VE day this Friday!
Fact – Did you know: on VE Day 75 Years ago, Mrs Nicolson, wife of James Nicolson VC who appears on our school memorial, received the tragic news that he was lost at sea.
