Y4 Week Commencing 18th May

Welcome to Week 5!

How's everything going?! We're so pleased to be hearing from more of you, and getting to see what you've been up to! Thank you and keep it coming!

Top Tip: Try to complete your Maths and English daily tasks in the morning. This way the rest of the day can be used to complete Sumdog challenges, chip away at your topic project or to get stuck into your reading.

Thank you so much for sharing your work with us - we're loving the work you're doing! Remember, if you need any help or have any questions, please email us at Year4@sholing-jun.co.uk or you can simply place a comment on the activity in Google Classroom.

We hope to hear from you soon! laugh

Daily Maths Tasks - Week 3

We now have a subscription for White Rose maths, so will be posting the worksheets from now on. Be aware that the worksheets are no longer next to the videos. You can access the videos via the link below and complete the attached worksheets.

Have fun! laugh

P.S: I have also added a fraction wall for you to use to help you during Tuesday's and Wednesday's maths lessons! yes

Daily English Tasks - Week 4

Each week, we will be setting you daily English tasks which will structured as follows:

Monday - Reading comprehension

Tuesday - Writing skills activity

Wednesday - Writing skills activity

Thursday and Friday - Big Write (2 day task)

These tasks will be available on both the Home Learning page on the website and on the Google Classroom and should be handed in (in the ways described above) on the dates shown on the tasks.

Enjoy! We're looking forward to seeing what you do! laugh

Topic - Week 5

Create and Investigate

Like all others, this week’s topic is all about creativity and getting ‘out and about’ safely. I know that more exercise activities have been approved, but if you do find things too busy out there, stay safe and keep at home. If you can’t get out and about, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy this week.

Mrs Manore has given me a scavenger hunt from those lovely people from the walk to school organisation. I am leaving these in a box outside school so you can collect one as you pass.

I have also set a mapping task around Queen Victoria Country Park. You will find bigger versions of this map outside school office for you to collect.  A bit of history and a bit of an adventure along the way, depending on your mapping skills. I guarantee that you will all discover something new here.

There is a friendship bracelet video (really bad one) here. https://sholing-junior-school.primarysite.media/   I hear this is how people in the ‘olden days’ made rope. Why not try that and photo the result?

Tate kids is BRILLIANT. Choose any activity – as long as you have the kit – and let’s see more creative magnificence!

Lots of art, lots of Lego and lots of family fun to be had. Please send photos too please.

Have fun and stay safe
