It is really important that all children are given the opportunity to excel in sports that they enjoy and also to try new sports. Therefore, within both your child's PE education and the extra curriculum provision at Sholing Junior School, your child is exposed to a full range of activities. We wanted to help in giving this opportunity to our pupils by putting together the following list of sports contacts that can be used to gain more information about sports clubs in the local area.

Southern Colts Academy an inclusive football academy for ages U7-U14. We accept first time footballers, to those wanting to reach the very top. We are in constant discussions with Southampton FC regarding the watch of our players. We have already had one child move onto the Saints Academy after being with us for 1 year. Every child receives the same style of coaching and is there to learn and have fun. I believe this provides a great opportunity for those less able, as well as those wanting another night of training to improve.

Sholing Football Club The club has been very successful in producing players through the ranks for the U23 & Youth Teams and some have gone on to play football at a higher level. All coaching is done to a high standard, within the guidelines of the Football Association (Sholing Youth FC is Accredited by the FA). Most of all, an emphasis is put on the enjoyment of the game and promotion of health & team spirit.

Southampton Hockey Club Southampton Hockey Club recognises the importance of developing young hockey players. The Club looks to help develop junior skills and develop an understanding for the rules of hockey. However the most important aspect is that they have fun and enjoy the sport.

Dreams Netball Club We are a well established local netball club in Southampton, Hampshire offering netball to all players irrespective of age and ability. We offer performance to grass root netball for both Seniors and Juniors, and Back to Netball. We have a variety of training sessions and teams for both Juniors and Seniors. Our Juniors range from age 4 to Under 18's and we have plenty of Senior teams in a variety of leagues. New players are always welcome to join us.

Youth Cricket Youth cricket is thriving in Hampshire with 500 teams across the county offering the chance to play from the age of 5 to adulthood.

Eastleigh Pirates Rugby New players are always welcome! Just come along and we'll get you playing and having fun.

Tennis Hampshire Being part of a welcoming tennis club is a great way to meet people, keep in shape and enjoy competitive opportunities. Our coaching programmes help players of all standards improve their skills and achieve their goals. Come and join us on court!
