This Term's theme is:
Children in Year 6 will be learning about Evolution
and the ground- breaking work of Mary Anning and Charles Darwin to name but two of our key thinkers. Later into the topic, children will further consider groups of animals, their habitats and a closer look at biomes.
Through our Literacy, the children will be using a text from the Genie project to consider Climate Change and how humans are affecting the environment of a planet that has been around for 4 billion years (of which humans have been around 0.00625%). This will lead to some very interesting persuasive and argumentative writing.
Homework will be different this half term. Instead of weekly tasks, children may choose tasks from the selection provided and will complete a minimum of 20 points (including at least one English/Maths and Science) at their leisure. Lots of rewards as usual for children to earn as well as consolidate and extend their learning and understanding of our theme.
